I have been sewing garments for myself since High School and have been sewing professional for more than 20 years.  I have taken many fitting classes and specialize in proper fit and professional garment construction.

I have sewn ladies pants, dresses, blouses, and jackets.  I have sewn swimming suits, dance outfits and competition roller skating outfits.  I have sewn prom dresses, bridesmaid’s dresses and wedding dresses.  I have made wedding veils.  I have drafted patterns from existing garments and recreated a newer garment.

I have made quilts, home decorator pillows, cushions and valances.

Janice did a terrific job making a late 14th century cotehardie (undergown) and houpelande (overgown) for me to wear to an event put on by the Society for Creative Anachronism. There were errors in the patterns I had, but she readily detected and then corrected them. The fittings were quick and efficient, and the finish work was beautifully done and right on time. I really enjoyed working with her -- she was curious about historical clothing and enjoyed the challenge of a new type of garment.

Our family has utilized Janice’s skills for many years.  Having two daughters, she has created for us a prom dress, bridesmaid dresses, wedding party ties for the guys and table toppers too.  Janice has also altered wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and other bridal attire.   She designed a clutch style evening bag out of extra fabric left over from the alteration of a dress and then hand beaded the bag to match the dress’s jacket.  This was an unexpected wonderful surprise for me!

Janice is always positive, does beautiful work and will complete your job in a timely manner.  I will continue to use her skills in the future and highly recommend Janice for dressmaking and alterations.
